I am extremely excited to share with you information about our upcoming TEDx event in Canyons School District.
We are currently looking for individuals interesting in presenting at our TEDx event – many of you have "ideas worth spreading" and we hope you will consider submitting a presentation as well!
On November 8th, Canyons School District will hold its first TEDx event for teachers, called TEDxCSDTeachers. TED is based on three very broad ideas that are shaping our future; Technology, Entertainment and Design. TED Talks bring the most innovative ideas and interesting people to the world with "ideas worth spreading." http://www.ted.com
TEDxCSDTeachers is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, live speakers plus recorded TED Talks combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group format. TEDx founder and director, Laura Stein, describes the TEDx philosophy as "simplified, authentic storytelling." At the TEDxCSDTeachers event, participants will experience a full day event filled with incredible ideas for the future of education. http://www.canyonsdistrict.org/TEDxCSDTeachers
Today Presenter submissions have finally opened. We are looking presenters with incredible ideas about the future education that are willing to share those ideas at our TEDx event on November 8, 2013 in Canyons School District. These ideas could include innovative teaching practices, lessons learned from the field of teaching, current educational projects and ideas for the future of education. Topics can be anything that promotes college and career readiness, a public educational system that aligns high-caliber curriculum, instruction and assessment, supports educational technology and encourages dedicated high-quality educators. http://www.canyonsdistrict.org/TEDxCSDTeachers - Click Presenters. Potential presenters will be notified by September 26, 2013 and will be required to audition on October 4, 2013 between 1PM–4PM. Call for presenters will close on September 24, 2013 at midnight.
We are also looking for secondary teachers who would like to attend. TEDxCSDTeachers has a limit of 100 attendees, who will be selected to attend based on the application form. Priority will be given to Canyons School District teachers. Attendees will receive a full day substitute (Canyons School District Only) and lunch.
